Online Course Development Theory [OCD] – 4 salary points
This course will enable LAUSD teachers to become familiar with the basic course design techniques as they development subject matter content for online delivery. It includes a continuum of delivery mechanisms from providing all course content and course activities in a web-based format to various combinations of web based formats. Participants will develop (1) activities that will scaffold student learning, (2) assessments that will measure student understanding on content and achievement of course objectives, and (3) strategies for managing and instructing student in an online environment.
OC D Practicum [OCD2] – 5 salary points
This course in intended for those who have completed OCD theory course and wish to continue in the content development process. This course will focus on assessment of online courses as well as implementation of online courses in a blended learning environment. During this course the participants will also continue the content development writing process by completing the second semester of their course.
Online Instructor Course [OIC] – 2 salary points
The Online Instructor Course (OIC) is designed to prepare faculty to provide instruction to secondary learners participating in blended online courses. The online instructor is more than just a transmitter of knowledge, but a facilitator of learning and must possess a unique set of tools to perform effectively
